Department of Korean Language & Literature
|
The department of Korean Language & Literature helps understand the thought, logic, emotion, and aesthetic sense unique to Korea as imbued in our language and literature; it also explores the true nature and features of Korean language and literature by scientifically examining the structural system and changes in the language and its writings. The Department serves as a guide in the exploration of this diverse and complex world. By providing majors such as Korean Language, Classical Literature, and Modern Literature that help understand literary works, features of its aesthetic structures, and traditional features of the Korean culture, the Department helps students thoroughly examine the Korean language so as to facilitate the enjoyment of the subtle sentiments of Korean language and literature. |
Department of English Language & Literature

In this department, students learn the English language and study British and American literature and linguistics. They can learn to communicate in English and develop their ability to analyze and collect information in the international society. They can also study the structure and stages of development of the English language and cultivate the ability to put it to practical use through a linguistic approach and comprehension. In the literary area, they can read, analyze and criticize major literary works of British and American poetry, novels, plays and essays of particular periods, and on top of that, come to understand the English-speaking cultures and thereby search for a harmony between order and change, which is what modern society aims for. |
Department of Japanese Language

The department aims to cultivate competent individuals as leaders of the 21st century, by encouraging students in their studies in various fields of politics, economics, society, culture and the arts, and improving their proficiency in Japanese, based on a basic understanding and acquisition of the Japanese language and literature. In particular, the department rears much-needed experts for forming new international relations by providing in-depth research covering all fields of Japanese culture. |
Department of Chinese Language

The Chinese Language Department and Literature provides students with the opportunity to become competent leaders in the cultural exchanges with China in the 21st Century. Students study a range of fields including literature, society, thought, and Chinese language. Students will used their knowledge in a professional capacity encompassing all variations of relations between Korea and China. |
Department of Child Care & Education

The department aims to achieve the three objectives as follows:
First, to provide an extensive education program to establish theories and techniques of child welfare as well as a firm sense of values
Second, to rear professionals in child welfare
Third, to contribute to the development of child welfare as a field of study and rear research experts in the area |
Department of Early Childhood Education

The purpose of the Department of Early Childhood Education is to prepare teachers in special education at the preschool level and to educate professionals in various areas including vocational and residential services. The teacher training program concentrates on developing competencies in instructing students with various mental and physical disadvantages including learning disabilities, visual impairments, hearing impairments, emotional or behavioral disorders, and communicative disorders. |
Department of Social Welfare

The chief purpose of the department is to contribute to building a welfare state by rearing professionals who are equipped to solve the various social problems in modern society and to satisfy the social needs of human beings, by developing Korean welfare theories and by fortifying field training.
The Department of Social Welfare, provides students with knowledge, skills and techniques required to professionally deal with human and social problems in the modern society through class and field instructions. The graduates work at social welfare centers, governmental offices, research institutions, and universities. |
